5 Keys To Real Transformation

Let’s keep this simple. I really like things to be simple.

You’ve tried to change things in the past, but they don’t stay changed, at least not for the better.

The current word being used when someone changes from one state to another in a way that sticks and doesn’t go back or get worse, is the word, “transform.” Literally, their form changes as if their DNA changed.

That’s the goal. Whether you’re transforming from anxious to calm, depressed to joyful, struggling in relationship to a healthy relationship, or from barely being able to pay your bills to a fantastic passive income with which you can retire, the goal is that the change is authentic.

The 5 essential keys are the following crucial 5 C’s:

Courage-Change is hugely stressful for both humans and animals. That’s why we work so hard to avoid it.

You can muster up the energy to get some change for a short period but run out of steam within a few days to a couple of weeks. It’s just not sustainable unless you dare to plow through the resistance.

Someone once said, “it takes guts to leave the ruts.”

Clarity-Be crystal clear about your vision of the completed goal, state, or condition that you want to be right for you when your goal is finally achieved. Without clarity, the rest can’t happen.

There’s a distinct relationship to what is evident in your mind and the results that happen in your life.

Commitment-In a bacon and egg breakfast, the chicken is involved, but the pig is committed. One of the reasons that I have encouraged my clients of both coaching and neurofeedback to pay in advance is to increase their commitment.

Those who don’t pay in advance give up early and far short of their goal. Those who have skin in the game and something to lose, complete their targets by a high percentage.

It may feel uncomfortable to have something to lose if you fail to complete your mission, but it’s useful. Talk about motivation, eh?

However, what you put on the line must mean something to you. If you don’t care about money, it wouldn’t be enough to motivate you to keep from losing it.

What do you need to raise your level of commitment knowing what you know about yourself?

Consistency-How many times have you gotten started, only to get off track or give up. It happens to all of us.

The example of weight loss is one of the most common cases in the universe. But, it could be anything.

How many clients have I met who gave up after a short time trying to build a blog, write a book, create passive income, trade real estate or stocks, overcome anxiety, make a successful marriage, and on, and on?

It’s difficult to be consistent without help. And, that brings me to the 5th C.

Coaching-No one creates lasting transformation without help. Sometimes it’s a direct intervention by God. Many times the story includes at least one other human being.

It’s impractical to wait around hoping that the perfect circumstance will occur accidentally for us to shift. A more practical approach is to create change intentionally.

A highly intentional choice that you have is to find a coach.

Coaches are all about transformation! Personal development coaches have been trained and experienced in focusing your mindset. They’re skilled at holding you accountable, helping you to get clear and stay focused.

A coach can be particularly helpful in the area of consistency. When you start to give up, they become what some have called, “professional nags.”

Of course, without the first few C’s of Courage, Clarity, Commitment, and Consistency, you probably won’t either hire a coach in the first place, or you’ll give up on your coach after just a few visits.

  • What are the results that you say you want in life?
  • Do you have the courage to move forward in creating that outcome?
  • Are you willing to put something on the line to maximize your commitment to that outcome?
  • Do you have what it takes to endure the discomfort of consistency?
  • Are you honest enough with yourself to be helped by a coach?

Out of curiosity, what is that transformation that you’d like to create in your life?
